Rules of
the Club 2025
1.
That the
CLUB be known as the ORAL SURGERY CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN.
2.
That the
objects of the CLUB be to advance the Science and Art of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery.
3.
That
membership be of two kinds, Active and Honorary.
4.
a) That
Active Membership be open to those appointed to an NHS consultant
post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of at least 6
sessions/programmed activities (or equivalent in the University or
Armed Services.) There are up to 55 active members.
b) Honorary Membership
is offered either on reaching the age of 65 or on retiring fully
from all professional practice, whichever is the sooner.
5.
That all
persons desiring to become Active Members be required to satisfy the
Committee that they are eligible under Rule 4. Candidates for
membership must be sponsored by a member and supported by at least
two other members. If accepted, their election will be carried out
at a meeting of the CLUB on report by the Committee.
6.
That
Membership of any Active member who fails to attend at least one
Meeting during a period of two years shall lapse, unless the
explanation given by such Member for non-attendance is considered
satisfactory by the Committee.
7.
That the
CLUB be administered by a Committee consisting of the President,
Past President, the Secretary, the Treasurer and four other members.
8.
That the
subscription for Active Members be £50.00 per annum, or such sum as
may be decided from time to time by a General Meeting of the CLUB.
The financial year of the CLUB shall commence on October 1st of each
year.
9.
The
accounting year for the club is October 1st each year.
